Power Platform Developer for Veterans Health Administration, Office of Health Informatics (OHI), Strategic Investment Management (SIM) Office

The Power Platform Developer will play a crucial role in the development, implementation, and management of Power BI reports and other Power Platform applications. This position is essential in supporting the data visualization and reporting needs of the Requirements Development and Management (RDM) unit, enabling informed decision-making across the Veterans Health Administration (VHA).

Responsibilities:
• Power BI Report Development:
• Design, develop, and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards to support business intelligence needs.
• Transform raw data into actionable insights through interactive and user-friendly reports.
• Ensure data accuracy and consistency across reports.
• Data Integration and Management:
• Integrate data from various sources into Power BI using SQL queries and Dataflows to provide comprehensive insights.
• Manage data connections, data models, and transformations within the Power BI environment.
• Collaborate with data owners and stakeholders to understand data requirements and ensure data integrity.
• SQL and Dataflows Management:
• Write and optimize SQL queries to extract and manipulate data for reporting purposes.
• Utilize Power BI Dataflows to prepare and transform data for analysis.
• Maintain and troubleshoot dataflows to ensure continuous data refresh and availability.
• Power Platform Development:
• Develop and maintain applications using Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Apps and Power Automate.
• Automate workflows and processes to enhance operational efficiency.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for Power Platform solutions.
• Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement:
• Work closely with business analysts, data engineers, and stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Participate in meetings and discussions to understand business needs and provide technical insights.
• Communicate effectively with non-technical stakeholders to explain complex technical concepts.
• Stay updated with the latest developments and best practices in Power BI, SQL, and Power Platform.
• Propose and implement improvements to existing reports, dashboards, and processes.
• Ensure adherence to data governance and security policies.

Required:
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Experience:
• Proven experience in developing Power BI reports and dashboards.
• Experience with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate).
• Strong knowledge of SQL for data querying and manipulation.
• Experience with Power BI Dataflows for data preparation and transformation.
• Knowledge of data modeling, data integration, and data management practices.
• Skills:
• Proficiency in DAX, Power Query, and SQL.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
• Certifications:
• Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate or relevant certifications are a plus.
